Description

The General Electric WB18X26980 Range High Voltage Electrodes & Harness generate and deliver high-voltage sparks for burner ignition. It works by passing electrical energy to the harness and to the electrodes that create sparks at the ports where the gas is ignited. The ignition module is connected to the assembly by a set of electrodes, which makes a complete ignition circuit. It is mounted under the cooktop surface to be fed through special channels to the respective burners. Its functioning enhances dependable ignition and stable burner start-up, and assists in maintaining secure and cooking performance.

Step 1: Your range should be disconnected from the wall outlet.

Step 2: The screws should be taken out and the oven door should be detached.

Step 3: The burner grates and burner caps should be removed, placing them aside safely.

Step 4: The three screws that fasten the electrode leads to the back panel should be identified and taken out.

Step 5: The colored leads of the electrode should be unplugged from the back panel and the electrode assembly should be extracted.

Step 6: The current harness HV assembly should be withdrawn and the colored leads should be disconnected from the plug.

Step 7: The new harness HV assembly should be positioned by attaching the colored leads to the plug and fastening it to the back panel with the three screws.

Step 8: The new electrodes should be placed and the colored leads should be connected to the back panel, then fastened with the three screws.

Step 9: The burner grates and burner caps should be returned to their original positions.

Step 10: The oven door should be reattached and secured.

Step 11: The oven should be reconnected to the wall outlet.
