Step 1: The refrigerator should be disconnected from the power source and ensured to be fully turned off, then all food items inside should be taken out.

Step 2: The rear panel of the refrigerator should be taken off to access the compressor.

Step 3: The compressor should be detached by removing screws and the electrical wires linked to it should be disconnected.
